A family walk with TAMITOS Move, without a race

On a family walk, TAMITOS Move can be an addition rather than the judge of your pace. Choose a route first and agree that stopping or turning back is possible. An adult can check their recorded activity later. Movement currently earns TAMI points, which do not become euros without a funded partner pot.

Agree on the shared purpose before leaving

Instead of “We have to beat yesterday”, choose a concrete plan: reach the tree near the playground and look at its leaves. It might also be an ordinary trip to a shop or a short loop along a familiar path. Every outing does not need to become a sports project.

Say clearly that a phone will not decide when you return. If someone has less energy, needs a break or wants a change of plan, respond to the family situation. A number on a screen is not a reason to extend the route against your agreement. Time together does not have to produce a record or a photograph for social media to count.

Choose a route with a straightforward way back

Look at surfaces, road crossings, resting places and where you can turn back. A short familiar loop may work better than a distant destination followed by an equally long return journey. Fit the distance to the people joining you and the conditions that day. This is not a universal step-count recommendation.

If several adults are coming, agree who is supervising the children and how a return will work. Do not rely on an activity app to replace supervision or navigation. This article does not present TAMITOS Move as a child safety tracker. At crossings and anywhere else requiring attention, put the screen aside and concentrate on the surroundings.

Check the app before the outing

Read the current information on the TAMITOS Move page and check the app on the adult's phone. Leave setup and signing in for a moment when nobody is waiting at a crossing. If you are new to it, read how it works and understand the permissions you are being asked to allow.

The public page currently lists Android on Google Play, with the iPhone version being prepared. Check the specific supported connection and current state in the app and its listing. Do not assume that every family member needs an account, watch or phone to join an ordinary walk. This suggestion is not a guide to opening children's accounts or a claim that a family-account feature exists.

Leave the numbers for a quieter moment

The phone can stay put away while you walk. Notice the leaves, a building or a place to pause together. If you want a small activity, choose one idea from our autumn games for a short walk. An outing without a task is a complete outing too.

Afterwards, the adult can check their own record. Comparing results with other people does not have to be part of this family agreement. If recorded activity differs from what you expected, do not add another walk simply to repair a number. Look at the available help or settings at a suitable time. The family outing did not fail because technology did not record everything as you imagined.

Explain TAMI points honestly

A simple explanation is: “The app shows points for movement. A partner has to provide money for funded help.” Avoid “We just earned that family ten euros” unless an actual funded conversion has been confirmed. Our guide to TAMI points and euros separates collecting points today from the possibility of conversion through a funded pot.

A voluntary direct gift is a separate route. Do not make it depend on the distance a child covers or describe it as a compulsory app fee. Before any payment, an adult should check the recipient, purpose and amount shown. This article makes no commitment to pay and does not promise a particular partner budget, exchange rate or launch date for conversion.

Two fictional versions of the same route

In one invented example, a family reaches the agreed tree, rests and chooses a small extra loop. At home, the adult checks the app. Their conversation includes the bird they saw rather than only a distance. The record is a small addition to the experience they shared.

In another example, rain starts and a child wants to return before the tree. The family uses the shorter way back. Nobody receives penalty points or a promise that they must make up the missing distance tomorrow. These are possible family agreements, not customer testimonials or measured effects of the app.

The second version can still give you useful planning information. Perhaps the return route was convenient, or the group needed a closer stopping place. You can change the next plan without turning today's outing into a failure. That is a practical choice for a family, rather than a feature we claim the app makes automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Do we have to compete on our walk?

No. Your family can agree on an outing without comparisons. If you also use sports apps, see our introduction to Move for Strava users. This does not imply automatic integration or a partnership with Strava.

How far should every child walk?

This article does not set one target. Adapt the route to your family and the conditions. An app should not determine what a child must achieve, and this is not individual health advice.

Do today's points mean money has reached a family?

Without a funded partner pot, no. Points remain in the user's account. Confirmed platform information determines the current state, rather than an estimate based on steps.

Explore Move at your own pace

Visit the current TAMITOS Move download section and use the official download option. This is our own app. We present it transparently as an addition to movement with points, rather than a guarantee of money for families or a universal solution for walking together.
